Suburban Tesla Installation

Project Overview & Objectives

Our suburban residential client sought a clean, powerful, and future-proof home charging solution for a newly acquired Tesla electric vehicle. The garage layout demanded a clean aesthetic without exposed surface wiring or intrusive exterior conduits. We engineered an optimized electrical run from the main distribution panel in the basement through framed floor joists directly to the primary parking bay, ensuring seamless charging performance at maximum Level 2 speeds.

Technical Engineering & Execution

Our master electricians integrated a dedicated 60-amp dual-pole circuit breaker into the existing 200-amp service equipment. Heavy-gauge #6 AWG copper conductors were pulled through grounded metallic conduit, preserving architectural cleanliness while ensuring full electrical isolation. The charging unit was securely anchored to the garage wall, configured for 48-amp continuous draw, calibrated for thermal dissipation, and connected to the local network for off-peak charging automation.

  • Dedicated continuous duty circuit design and panel inspection
  • High-amperage industrial conduit routing with zero structural impact
  • Smart dynamic load balancing configuration to prevent grid overload
  • Complete municipal permit acquisition and final utility sign-off

Results & Performance

The newly commissioned charging station delivers full charging capacity at up to 44 miles of range per hour, enabling complete overnight vehicle replenishment in less than six hours. Voltage drop and thermal imaging under continuous load confirmed optimal operating temperatures across all terminals. The local municipal electrical inspection passed on the first visit with zero code violations.

Tesla Certified Standards

Wall Connector installs follow the Tesla commissioning guide plus NEC 625, with a dedicated breaker, torque-marked lugs, and ground continuity verification.

A Wall Connector on a 60A circuit delivers 48A, roughly 44 miles of range per hour for Model 3 and Model Y, covering any overnight need.
The Universal Wall Connector includes a built-in NACS-to-J1772 adapter, and standard units work for other EVs with a separate adapter.
Yes. Tesla app integration enables solar-only charging modes and Powerwall-aware load balancing where those systems exist.
